Biography
I studied Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology
from 1982 until 1988. Then I worked at IPO for one year, examining usability
issues of using of mouse and speech input for text annotation systems. In
1995, I obtained a PhD at the Delft University of Technology on the subject
of support for communication within design teams.
From 1995 until 1997, I worked at the HCI group of the Computer
Science Department of the Queen Mary and Westfield College in London, on
research on how to involve users in the design of interactive systems.
In 1997, I became a member of the User Centred Design programme at
IPO, Center for user-system interaction. In 1998, I became an assistant
professor in User Centred Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology. I
have started working at the department of Industrial Design at the beginning
of 2004.
